Nursery

 

If you wish your child to attend Hucklow Nursery application forms are available from both the Nursery and First Start Reception Desks, or from the school office at Hucklow Primary

 

We would like to take this time to welcome you all to Hucklow Nursery. It has been lovely to welcome back our children who were with us last year, who have settled back into Nursery life well. We have also enjoyed welcoming and getting to know all our new Nursery children who are settling well.

 

This Half term we are learning all about Ourselves and Our Families, as well as developing our understanding of how to play and share together. We are learning to make new friends and enjoying exploring all the different areas to play in. 

 

In Nursery the majority of learning takes place through self-chosen play along with short group sessions led by an adult – these can be as a group or a whole class depending on the activity. These both develop their skills and knowledge in the seven areas of learning and development within the Early Years Foundation Stage.

 

In Nursery we focus firstly on the Three Prime Areas – Communication and Language, Personal, Social and Emotional development and Physical Development.

 

The Nursery Curriculum Overview will inform you further about what the children will be learning over the year.
